In 2016, Wiley Wolf Productions Ltd presented the ONLY musical ever to be based on pee, Urinetown!

“IT’S A PRIVILEGE TO PEE”

“Well, hello there and welcome to Urinetown. Not the place of course, the musical…”

So begins this epic tale of love, greed and… pee.

In a Gotham-like city, a terrible water shortage, caused by a 20-year drought, has led to a government-enforced ban on all private toilets. The citizens are forced to use public facilities controlled by the UGC, a malicious company that profits by charging admission for one of humanity’s most basic needs.

The oppressed rise up under the leadership of Bobby Strong, a hero who decides enough is enough, and plans to lead them all to freedom!

“DO YOU HEAR THE

PEOPLE PEE?”

What is Urinetown – The Musical?

Please don’t let the title put you off. It’s dark, it’s witty and it’s hilarious!

WINNER of three TONY Awards, Urinetown is a twisted tale of greed, love and revolution in a time when water is worth its weight in gold.

Inspired by the works of Bertolt Brecht & Kurt Weill, Urinetown is a humorous satire in which no one is safe from scrutiny. Praised for reinventing the very notion of what a musical could be, Urinetown parodies everything from the legal system, politics, capitalism and even musical theatre itself!

With clever lyrics, a brilliant script and captivating score, Urinetown – The Musical makes you laugh until you pee!

“Fun, fantastic and a bonkers night out”

“…the singing is by far some of the best live singing I’ve ever heard”

“Brilliant”

“Imagine a dystopian future where you have to pay to pee and failing to pay is a crime. Throw in some pantomime, a little Broadway, some gospel, slapstick, homages to West End plays, women giving birth to bloodied bunnies, murder, socioeconomic and political observations, exposition, breaking the fourth wall, great singing and humour. What you have is Urinetown.”

Graham Beadle

“Urinetown was a great evening full of energetic performances, humour, a great and unusual storyline. The whole family enjoyed it”

Tracey Field

“…This show is by far one of the best I’ve seen and was so worth the late night. They keep you involved, you feel like part of the show from the second you get to the theatre. The acting is superb and the singing is some of the best live singing I’ve ever heard”

Zoe Jeffery

“Absolutley loved the opening night – fab job on one of my favourite musicals everyone!”

GDS Productions

“Urinetown – The Musical – Sorry You Missed It… It’s a story that deconstructs itself; a tale of greed and love, underpinned by a water shortage. Yes, an odd premise, and a challenge to pull this one off as it is so off the wall, but this young and energetic company embraced it with ease. Many of the performances were rewardingly close to West End quality.

For a small budget conscious company, the sets were way above average; the slickness of the scene changes were undeniable. The choreography was sharp, tight and clean.

Costuming was appropriate and casting was intelligent. There were some shining moments as well of course; Bobby and Hope’s ‘Follow Your Heart’ was emotionally charged and Bobby’s perfect rendition of ‘Run Freedom Run’ made me proud of someone I didn’t even know. The Police Officer almost stole the show. This is a company to watch. They are hungry and passionate and this show would have been well received in a much bigger town.

Congrats and I will come to see your next piece. Wherever you are.”
